Classic Stuffed Eggs Recipe: The Ultimate Creamy Deviled Eggs Guide

Classic Stuffed Eggs Recipe: The Ultimate Creamy Deviled Eggs Guide

There's something magical about a platter of stuffed eggs at a family gathering. Maybe it's the way they disappear before dinner is even served, or the nostalgic smile they bring to everyone's face. I still remember standing on a little stool next to my grandmother, watching her pipe silky golden yolk filling into perfect white halves, sneaking a taste whenever she wasn't looking. Today, I'm sharing that same beloved classic with you — simple, creamy, and absolutely irresistible. Whether you call them deviled eggs or stuffed eggs, this recipe is the one you'll come back to again and again.

Ingredients

  • 6 large eggs
  • 1/4 cup mayonnaise
  • 1 teaspoon Dijon mustard
  • 1 teaspoon white vinegar
  • 1/8 teaspoon salt
  • 1/8 teaspoon black pepper
  • Pinch of paprika, for garnish
  • Fresh chives, finely chopped, for garnish (optional)

Instructions

  1. Place the eggs in a single layer in a saucepan and cover with cold water by about an inch.
  2. Bring to a boil over medium-high heat, then cover, remove from heat, and let sit for 10–12 minutes.
  3. Transfer the eggs to a bowl of ice water and cool for at least 5 minutes.
  4. Peel the eggs carefully, then slice each in half lengthwise.
  5. Gently scoop the yolks into a bowl, keeping the whites intact on a serving plate.
  6. Mash the yolks with a fork until smooth, then stir in mayonnaise, mustard, vinegar, salt, and pepper until creamy.
  7. Spoon or pipe the yolk mixture back into the egg white halves.
  8. Garnish with paprika and chives, then chill until ready to serve.

Tips & Tricks

  • Use eggs that are a week or two old — they peel much more easily than fresh ones.
  • For the silkiest filling, press the mashed yolks through a fine-mesh sieve before mixing.
  • Pipe the filling with a zip-top bag with the corner snipped for a bakery-worthy look.
  • Don't over-boil; a green ring around the yolk means overcooking and a drier texture.

I hope these classic stuffed eggs become a staple at your table just like they are at mine. They're quick, budget-friendly, and always a crowd-pleaser. Give them a try at your next get-together, and don't forget to share the love — and the recipe — with a friend who needs a little appetizer inspiration!
